Press Release: Sumner County, Tenn.- 12/17/20 Leadership Sumner has hired Jamey Campbell as executive director, effective January 2021. In this newly formed role, Campbell will work with the board to build an organization that is led with consistency and passion for the county. For many years, the program has been run by a rotating volunteer board. "I am excited to announce the hiring of Jamey Campbell as our executive director," says Ray Carman, current president of Leadership Sumner. "For the past few years, it has been the goal of the board to see this day come to pass. Having an executive director who is passionate about this program and our community will help launch us further toward our goal of being a forerunner in leadership development in Middle TN. We are excited to welcome Jamey aboard and look forward to the future of Leadership Sumner." Campbell is a 2011 Leadership Sumner graduate and later served as volunteer co-director for the class of 2012 and president 2013-2014. Since rolling off the board in 2015, Campbell has invested most of his volunteer time with the Gallatin Rotary Club, the Gallatin Soccer Club, and St. John Vianney Catholic School. Campbell is married to Jen Girten and has two sons, Mason and Miller. The family has lived in Sumner County since 2009. "I am thrilled to rejoin Leadership Sumner at this point in its history and our community timeline," says Campbell. "The pandemic has brought to light both our community needs and our collective strengths. We have the opportunity to come out of a year-long pause in Leadership Sumner programming with a new focus and some creative plans to reach broadly across our professional and neighborhood communities in the future." Leadership Sumner was formed to educate and develop potential and active community leaders about the history, politics, and culture of Sumner County. Well over 500 participants have graduated from the program since it began more than 25 years ago. Alumni Mixer and Recruitment Event
