John C. Garrett, IV practices in the areas of general business, real estate, civil litigation, contract disputes, estate planning and domestic relations law.
Mr. Garrett, joined Bone McAllester Norton as a law clerk while in law school in 2005. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Garrett worked as a litigation specialist for Medical Reimbursements of America, LLC. As a litigation specialist, Mr. Garrett negotiated large balance accident/injury hospital patient accounts with attorneys across the nation as well as tracked federal and state-regulated developments in insurance reimbursement laws, such as HIPAA, Workers’ Compensation, Medicare Secondary Payor Compliance and Subrogation.
Mr. Garrett serves on the President’s Advisory Board of Goodpasture Christian High School. He is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Sumner and serves as a board member for TRAC, Inc. (Temporary Residence for Adolescents in Crisis) in Sumner County.
Mr. Garrett earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in 2001 where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Between college and law school, Johnny interned at the White House under Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Nashville School of Law in 2006.
Mr. Garrett is a native of Sumner County, Tennessee and resides there with his wife, Kara, and two children, Jackson and Ella. He practices in the firm’s Sumner County office. He is a member of the Sumner County and Tennessee Bar Associations.
Jeff Haney works for Shelter Insurance in Hendersonville specializing in auto, home, life, and business insurance. He is a graduate of the class of 2007 and is a past president of the Optimist Club of Hendersonville. He also is a mentor at Whitten Elementary.
Jeff enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and three children. A resident of Sumner County for the past 4 years Jeff joined Leadership Sumner to learn all he could about Sumner County and all it had to offer.
Pam Jackson, voted Alumni of the Year in 2008, moved to Sumner County in 1964 from Louisiana. Pam has served in many voluntary capacities for the betterment of our county. She has held positions as Past President of the White House Chamber of Commerce 2004-05; Past President of the United Chambers of Sumner County 2005-07; Relay for Life White House committee for the past 8 years as well as being a Co-Director of the Leadership Sumner Class 2003. Pam has spent 29 years in the banking industry with Volunteer State Bank and has been in the financial services business for the past 3 years with Fidelity National Information Services as a Strategic Account Manager.
Pam, a graduate of the Leadership Sumner Class of 2002, enjoys spending time with her husband of 32 years, Skip, and her two children and three grandchildren. She also enjoys reading and spending time with her friends. She joined Leadership Sumner to broaden her knowledge of Sumner County and to gain a better understanding of the issues that Sumner faces.
Sandy Stuckey, Class of 2006, has over 20 years experience in hospitality management, Sandy has worked with Gaylord Hotels in Nashville, Tennessee; Orlando, Florida; and Grapevine, Texas. As Director of Special Events and Entertainment, she was responsible for producing all aspects of Gaylord Opryland’s “A Country Christmas”, ICE! and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. In addition to “A Country Christmas” and other annual events, she also served as the liaison for the U.S. Secret Service, and the White House Advance Team organizing the visit of dignitaries at Gaylord Opryland including coordinating the 50th wedding anniversary of former President George Bush and Barbara Bush.
Currently, she is a Consultant to several hotels in the Southeast providing services that include Special Events planning, Holiday décor and entertainment and Concierge Training. Sandy grew up in Sumner County attending school in Hendersonville and Volunteer State Community College. She lives in Gallatin with her husband Clay and two children; Zach and Mattie. She is also the daughter of alumni Joyce Minor Class of 2003.
Dr. Stan Cole, Class of 2005, served three years as the Vice President of Resource Development at Volunteer State Community College and almost two years as Vice President of Philanthropy at Sumner Regional Health Systems. He has served on the Leadership Sumner Alumni Association Board since 2005, as Co-Director of the Class of 2006, President Elect, President, Past President and, now, Member-at-Large. He is a past member of the Gallatin Noon Rotary Club, the Gallatin Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Faces of Hope Board of Directors. He is currently working for the Sumner County Board of Education and is president of the Country Hills Homeowners Association. Cole and his wife, Pam, have lived in Sumner County for 8 years. He enjoys golf, fishing and reading as his favorite pastimes. Stan originally joined Leadership Sumner to gain knowledge of the area and for the networking potential. He believes in the value of leadership programs as he also is a graduate of the WestStar Leadership Program in West Tennessee.
Van L. Hohe, Class of 2007, is currently serving the Leadership Sumner Board of Directors as the Director of the Leadership Sumner Youth Program. Hohe is the owner of the Van Alan Productions & Management Company and he manages bands and owns a renowned traveling Christian rock festival.
Van has lived in Sumner County for the past 15 years with his wife and young son and enjoys music, tennis, golf, travel and design.
Hohe has resurrected the Leadership Sumner Youth Program and with the help of others, this program was active for Sumner County High School Students in the summer of 2009.
Amy Campbell, Class of 2009, currently lives in the Madison/Rivergate area but works for Regions Bank in Hendersonville and she very much wants to learn about our county. An avid sports fan of Vanderbilt and MTSU she and her family also enjoy both spending time at their church as well as traveling. Amy (a “Hub”) has earned a BBA/MBA at MTSU and both Series 6 & 63. She has also been educated in Life insurance. Her other community obligations include City Road UMC and the Blue Raider Athletic Association.
Wendy Hughes, a “Blue”, is presently employed by the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce while working towards her IOM. With husband of 18 years, Chris and son, Brent and daughter, Heather. Wendy, Class of 2009, has lived in Sumner County for the past eighteen years. Though once experienced in telecommunications and healthcare administration she finds she now enjoys all the varied Chamber-related activities. In her leisure time she is working with her daughter's school programs, as well as enjoying reading and art-related activities.
Craig Sanders, Class of 2009, is employed by SunTrust Mortgage. He joined Leadership Sumner because he wishes to learn more about and serve the county he lives in. A member of the Blue Raiders Athletic Association, Craig also enjoys spending time with his wife, Lyndsay and their family. He also enjoys boating and playing tennis. This “Green” who formerly worked in radio has been a resident of Sumner County for thirty-two years!
Howard Wayne Austin, affectionately known as “Butch” to his friends and co-workers is a graduate of the Class of 2006. Butch is currently employed as a full-service Realtor at Bob Parks Realty LLC in Gallatin. He has eagerly worked with customers all through Sumner County, Robertson County and all of Middle Tennessee.
Austin is also involved with the American Red Cross and the Knights of Columbus. His hobbies include golf, cinema and woodworking. A resident of Portland, in Sumner County, since 2003, Butch and his wife of thirty-two plus years have 3 children; one daughter and two sons. He is also the grandfather of four granddaughters, one grandson and also has a great grand daughter!
Butch joined Leadership Sumner so he could learn more about the county in which he lives and learn about the people that are his community neighbors. He also has found being in Leadership Sumner has aided him in the Real Estate profession as he can better serve his many customers with first hand knowledge about how the county is managed and its many assets.
Steve Luther is a graduate of the Class of 2009 and was one of the Co-Directors for the Class of 2009. He is employed by Keller Williams Realty as a real estate broker and Realtor. Steve holds a BBA in Management Information Systems, Real Estate Broker License and many professional designations such as CRS, ABR, GRI, ePRO, SRES, CSP, CRFS.Steve is actively involved in his community as seen by his memberships in the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce, holding the Executive Board/Vice Chair of Promotion position. Also he is associated with the Sumner Assoc of Realtors-Golf Task Force, Founder/Chairman-Ginomai Foundation (HolidayFest), Agent Leadership Council-Keller Williams Realty, President-Saundersville Station HOA.Along with his wife Melissa and son Jacob he has been a resident of Sumner County for the past 6 years. Steve says he joined Leadership Sumner to learn more about the county - its history, industry, government, and education - so that he will have a better understanding of how and where he can make a difference.
